It's time for "American Idol" to give it up

The recent news of Jennifer Lopez leaving American Idol confirms something that's been nagging me all season.  It's time to let the show go. It's not that I'm a rabid fan of Lopez, just that a show can only survive majors changes for so long before it collapses.

NEW YORK - David Caruso has whipped off those sunglasses for the final time: CBS has cancelled veteran drama series “CSI: Miami,” as well the freshman dramas “Unforgettable,” “A Gifted Man,” “NYC 22,” and the comedy “Rob.” The star of “A Gifted Man” took to Twitter to vent about the news.

Why "Missing" Shouldn't Be Canceled

I'm upset by news this morning that ABC has decided to cancel Missing, the thriller starring Ashley Judd.
When this show first came out, it reminded me of the failed NBC show, Undercovers. But I also noticed the differences.  There was no cutesy undertone of cliche comedy in the midst of a serious thriller; there was simply stunning backdrops against the brilliant acting of Ashley Judd.

The Bachelor: Ben Will Choose Courtney

Here's how I would like The Bachelor to go:

Ben will get down on one knee and ask Lindzi to marry him.

Here's how it probably will go:

Ben will get down on one knee and ask Courtney to marry him. In a few months, it will be a similar break-up to that of Jake and Vienna. It will be loud, messy, and splattered all over the media. I was right the first time this happened. For their sake, though, I hope I'm wrong.

Sometimes I feel a little sorry for Courtney. Do I think she's fake? Not really. She was simply mean and she (sort of) apologized for it. But it doesn't take that fact away. She may be in love but if Ben wants any hint of what life with her will be like, all he has to do is look at her past behavior. He will grow frustrated trying to live up to Courtney's standards. He will always be in some sort of gridlock with her over something.

Is "Survivor" trying to survive?

I watched the season premier of Survivor: One World last night and I'm just a tad bit concerned that the series may have run its course. It pains me to say that because I would love to see the show go on and on and on.

But last night on Survivor: One World, when Jeff Probst mentioned that there would be no Redemption Island this season, I couldn't help picture all the dramatic changes over the last few seasons as an attempt to grasp at straws.

The Bachelor: Courtney is this season's Vienna

On Jake's season, there was Vienna. A gorgeous but not very bright girl, who thought her physical qualities was the ticket to progressing in this life. She was a bit childish and spoiled and it was why many of the girls in the house didn't like her.

Enter this season's Vienna; Courtney Robertson.
